Visiting Students
Choosing a UChicago Summer course offers you an opportunity to get ahead in your studies while experiencing our distinctive academic culture. We offer courses online and in-person, June through September. Courses are typically 3 to 6-week long. Each class is the equivalent of a full quarter-long course and meets for at least 27 contact hours. Because some courses fill quickly, we recommend that you apply early.
How to Apply
Go to the application page and create your profile.
When completing your application, select and rank the classes you're interested in. You may select up to 4 classes.
Visiting students may enroll in up to two courses per session, and up to three classes total.
To apply: 1) Submit the online application form, 2) upload your most recent academic transcript and 3) pay the $50 application fee. When applicable, please explain how you meet the prerequisites.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis from January until May 15, 2025. Admission decisions are released every two weeks beginning mid-January. Applying early may help you secure a spot in courses that fill fast.
Once admitted, you will need to confirm attendance by submitting a $500 deposit within seven days of being notified. This will secure your spot in the class(es).
