Course Description
This course will introduce students to the social sciences of health and medicine, using the city of Chicago as an extended case study.
We will explore issues of framing and meaning in relation to illness experience, health inequities, and the organization of healthcare systems, using local examples throughout.
The course will feature a range of local guest speakers and several field trips.
Course Criteria
This course will fulfill the introductory requirement for the Minor in Health and Society.
