Pre-College Programs
The University of Chicago's Summer Session brings together a global community of thinkers who are excited by interesting questions and seek to engage new ideas. Discover diverse program opportunities designed to challenge and engage curious high school students this summer across a variety of subject areas and disciplines. Within a supportive community, pre-college students are given the chance to take intellectual risks, dive more deeply into subject matter, and discuss questions that go beyond the realm of their high school curriculum, while experiencing a dynamic campus situated in scenic Hyde Park in the city of Chicago during the best season of the year — summer!
Residential Programs
1 Week Enrichment
Enrichment programs provide students the opportunity to have a short-term academic and residential experience at a research institution with a strong liberal arts curriculum.
2 Week Experience
These programs combine academic and practical learning in activities led by faculty, university professionals, and industry leaders, all designed to help students plot their future pathways in college and beyond.
3 Week Immersion
Immerse yourself in an undergraduate-level course taught by UChicago faculty and lecturers, where you have the opportunity to explore a topic in-depth through discussions, projects, field trips, and other activities.
4 Week Practicum
Gain in-depth research experience in these intensive, hands-on courses. Learn advanced lab techniques in Research in the Biological Sciences (RIBS), or go into the field in Wyoming with Field Museum paleontologists in Stones and Bones.
Remote Programs
3-5 Week Summer Online
Join UChicago online this summer to explore new subjects or deepen your knowledge in existing interests through undergraduate-level courses designed for pre-college students or in College courses you can take alongside UChicago undergraduates.
6-8 Week Pre-College Summer Language Institute
Learn an entire year of a language online this summer! Ideal for students who want the opportunity to either learn a new language or continue learning a language. Classes are with current UChicago students, advanced high school students, as well as visiting undergraduate and graduate students.
Academic Year & Other Programs
College Bridge for Chicago Public School students
This program provides academically advanced high school students from the Chicago Public School system a way to go beyond their high school curriculum and study at the undergraduate level in the College at the University of Chicago.
