Students are exposed to a broad range of molecular, microbiological, and cellular biological techniques.
Each summer, students from around the country and the world come to UChicago to be a part of an exceptional academic environment. We offer programs for a variety of students:
High School Students may study alongside University of Chicago students in the Undergraduate Course Offerings, which include classes drawn from the standard College curriculum. High school students may also apply for courses that are only open to high school students and are experiential and discussion-based, covering one subject in-depth. These include a variety of disciplines in our Insight program, field schools in paleontology and wildlife biology, a research-based biological science course, or a study abroad trip in Greece.
Visiting Students from other colleges and universities may enroll in any of the Undergraduate Course Offerings, or apply to the Chicago in Beijing program to study Chinese at the University of Chicago Beijing Center.
UChicago Students often use the summer to get ahead on their General Education or major requirements, to pick up courses that might have been over-enrolled during the regular academic year or that they missed while studying abroad or during other time off-campus, or to focus specifically on a particular course's material. Of special note is the Chicago in Beijing program, where students spend the summer at the University of Chicago Beijing Center while studying Chinese.
Students may live on-campus or commute, and have all the benefits and privileges of full-time UChicago students while enrolled in classes. Undergraduate UChicago and Visiting students may register themselves for courses beginning January 14. High school students must complete a full application for Summer Session 2015. This application opens mid-January with rolling admissions, so we encourage you to submit your completed application early to ensure your seat at UChicago this summer.
