Sergio Salas is currently an Associate Professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaiso, Chile. From 2010 to 2013 he worked as a Senior Economist at the Central Bank of Chile and as an Advisor to the Budget Office at the Ministry of Finance in Chile. He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics in 2010 from the University of Chicago. His research areas include general equilibrium monetary models and financial frictions with heterogenous agents. He taught Econ 20200 at the University of Chicago in the summer of 2014.
