Every summer, the University of Chicago offers a wide array of courses taught by eminent professors and accomplished lecturers, including several past winners of the University's Quantrell Award for Undergraduate Teaching, in small class sizes that promote more individualized attention. You can take care of a requirement, concentrate your effort on a particular subject, or try something new, while also experiencing the city at its liveliest, with all of the summertime outdoor music festivals, street fairs, beaches, and other amenities.
The Summer Session Office cannot enroll matriculating University of Chicago students until after the Summer Session has begun. Prior to June 10, 2015, University of Chicago undergraduate students should enroll at classes.uchicago.edu. Students needing to register late or wishing to add/drop after June 10 should contact the Summer Session Office at firstname.lastname@example.org. University of Chicago graduate students should enroll through their Dean of Students Office.
Courses offered are three, four, five, six, or nine weeks in length. Each summer course, regardless of length, is the equivalent of a full quarter-long course, yielding 5 quarter hours of credit.
Official grades for all courses, regardless of course dates, are not available until after the end of Summer Session (mid-September). Once official grades are available, you may log on to myUChicago to view your grades.
