We are excited to welcome your high school student to campus this summer! While we recommend you also visit the Post-Admission page, we hope the information below and throughout the following pages will specifically and helpfully address concerns that you, as parents or guardians, may have.
Getting to Campus
Students flying into O’Hare International Airport have the option to transport back to campus with other UChicago Summer Session students. A staff member will meet them at the airport, and lead them to our shuttle service. An additional fee is associated with this service.
Students flying into Midway International Airport must get themselves to and from campus. Students coming from the airport can arrive via ride sharing apps, public transportation, or shuttles. We recommend Go Airport Express, which operates out of both Midway and O'Hare Airports and will drop students off right in front of Campus North Residential Commons. To schedule a pick-up, go to https://www.airportexpress.com/ or call 1-888-284-3826 (press option 1 to be connected to an operator immediately). When they get on the shuttle, students will need to alert the driver that they need to be dropped off at Campus North Residential Commons.
High School Orientation
Session I is Saturday-Sunday, June 22-23; Orientation for Session II is Saturday-Sunday, July 13-14.
Orientation begins at Campus North Residential Commons (5500 S. University Avenue) and is required for all students. Parents are welcome to attend Orientation on Saturday before 5:00 pm, but all events after 6:00 pm on Saturday and all day Sunday are for students only. Commuter students are required to attend orientation on Saturday; all activities after 6 pm on Saturday are optional.
